My main thing outside writing and teaching at the moment is photography. You can check out some of my pictures by going to www.jsamlarose.com/photoblog. I'll be adding pictures on a regular basis, so keep an eye on it.

As far as camera kit, I shoot primarily with a Pentax ME Super and a Lomo LC-A, though I also own an Olympus XA, a Zenit-E, a Voigtlander Bessa, an Olympus trip and an Sony DSC-FX77. I'd love to be able to pick up a decent digitial SLR sometime soon (that's just a really big hint for Santa Claus...) I tend to prefer shooting with the film cameras that I've got at the moment, though digital seems to make a lot of sense.

I've been into the idea of photography for a while now, and I guess it was inevitable that I'd start shooting for myself. It's the Lomo that really got me into it, with the warm, personal quality of many of the pictures you'll find exhibited on the Lomo website. In a way, my photographic aesthetic is closely linked with my practise in writing...
